When You Take Your Hands Off Our Benefits, Then We’ll Take Our Hands From Your Throat

As I documented yesterday in The New Civility: Left Threatens Fox News Reporter Days Before Assault By Union Demonstrator the vitriol and violence of the Left is increasing. Rather than write a long post I thought I’d just let the Left tell you their stories in their own words and deeds. BE WARNED: Foul Language and Violence on Display.

At the pro-public sector union rally at the State of Illinois building in Chicago on February 26th, one protester who calls himself PackerBackerBob carried a sign claiming “the GOP hearts the KKK.” When asked to explain it, he offered $1 million to anyone who could prove it wrong before challenging anyone who disagreed to a fight. The New Civility: Left Threatens Fox News Reporter Days Before Assault By Union Demonstrator

On the heels of Democrat calls to “Hit the streets” and “Get a little bloody,” the Left’s hatred, masquerading as virtues, has turned to violence. Union thugs rallying with the financial and internal support of President Obama’s campaign arm Organizing for America descended upon Wisconsin to mobilize for collective action and maintain the Left’s grip on taxpayer funded political contributions. Their mantra has become “When you take your hands off our benefits, then we will take our hands from your throat.”

Amid chants of “Fox News lies” and extended arms blocking his camera, Fox News reporter Mike Tobin was hit twice by union protestors while reporting live on the rally in the Wisconsin capital. FNC cut away from Tobin to a scene of the capital rotunda, but Tobin confirmed the assault on twitter shortly thereafter. The Left’s vitriolic hatred is on display for all the world to see.

Mike Tobin’s report last week on the protester’s heckling him in Wisconsin elicited hateful, violent comments on the Huffington Post, precursors to today’s events. At what point will the police arrest the union thugs? And when will the Left demonstrate the new tone of “civility?”

But Tobin is only the most recent in a tumult of violent reactions beginning to take shape across the nation. A FreedomWorks activist was assaulted by union thugs, Former Massachusetts Congressional Candidate Marty Lamb was knocked to the ground by union thugs, a union member attacked and injured a Tea Party activist at a MoveOn.org-organized rally, while families of congressional members in Wisconsin are being threatened and harrassed.

The new “civility” called for by a President famous for stating, “If they bring a knife, we bring a gun,” and “Get in their faces” is taking on a vitriolic and violent reactionary nature. Answering to the call of Frances Fox Piven, who rang in the New Year by calling for violent revolution, protesters organized by MoveOn.org, Van Jones, SEIU, AFSCME and other radical groups are becoming her “unruly mobs.”

“So where are the angry crowds, the demonstrations, sit-ins and unruly mobs? After all, the injustice is apparent. Working people are losing their homes and their pensions while robber-baron CEOs report renewed profits and windfall bonuses. Shouldn’t the unemployed be on the march? Why aren’t they demanding enhanced safety net protections and big initiatives to generate jobs?”

The left always resorts to violence when they fail to get their way. The tax-paying voters have spoken and the union thugs and Democrats don’t like relinquishing the power gained through taxpayer-forced funding of political campaigns. Too bad. Elections have consequences.

Impeachable Offenses? Has Obama Crossed the Line?

Cross posted at NewsRealBlog

And so it begins. As Islamist insurrections erupt across the world, President Obama incites a battle at home between producers and parasites that his union supporters parallel with the struggle of the Egyptian people. Interjecting himself into the sovereign matters of state governments  Obama moved to directly violate the expressed will of the Wisconsin People by actively mobilizing his political organization to affect contractual relationships between the state and its employees, and supporting the shut down of the Wisconsin state government – a direct violation of his oath of office. Ignited by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s proposal to limit public sector collective bargaining rights for benefits by requiring union members to contribute 12.6% of their income towards their healthcare plans and 5.8% towards their pension, DNC Chairman Timothy  M. Kaine worked in close coordination with President Obama’s political apparatus, Organizing for America (OFA), and state & national union leaders to rally public sector employees to protest at state capitals across the nation this month (hereherehere, here and here.)

A Community Organizer is paid to foment resentment and class envy. That’s how they gain power and influence. The Agitator-In-Chief fueled the flames of union dissension, declaring limits on collective bargaining rights an “assault on unions,” encouraged mob rule aross the nation to negate the last elections, and directly violated the powers reserved to the States in the U.S. Constitution’s 10th Amendment. Quoting Mark Jefferson, executive director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, in an RPW press release,

“To willfully prevent elected officials from performing their official duties in order to circumvent the legislative process flies in the face of democracy. “

President Obama has radical ideas about the relationship between the federal and state governments. As head of the federal government, he has no standing to organize or allocate resources to interfere with a state’s contractual relationship, to openly encourage an illegal strike by militant protestors to shut down a state government, or interfere in any way with a state’s ability to conduct its business. All are impeachable offenses. But as the Heritage Foundation Morning Bell outlines, this is precisely what President Obama did. Continue reading

Michelle Obama: “Let’s Lie” and Other Smart Parenting Techniques from the Left

Progressives using deceit and misinformation to manipulate people to achieve their intended goal is not new. It’s standard operating procedure. With the election of Barack Obama came the most radical administration in the history of the United States bringing lies, threats, and backroom deals to the forefront of American politics. 60’s radicals seized their opportunity to enact their leftist agenda, attacking any opponent who dared to speak out against their plans. But the American people held strong to their convictions and the left was forced to move toward soft tyranny, the slow nudge of leftist ideology insinuating itself into our lives. Through all of this the one thing we thought America would never see would be the day that its First Lady would advance an agenda that encourages parents to lie and trick their children.

As part of Let’s Move, Michelle Obama’s nationwide crusade to reduce obesity, the First Lady sponsored a multitude of efforts that violate personal liberties, eliminate free choice and personal responsibility, and enable the federal government to intrude into the lives of private citizens. She campaigned to eliminate food desserts, to enact legislation to give the federal government the power to collect the BMI (body mass index) of children ages 2 – 18 and provide counseling to those that are overweight, to place salad bars in elementary school lunch rooms, and to “transform the marketplace” by removing items containing trans fat from available choices to purchase in the nation’s largest grocery retailer.

Let’s Move is one of many means to an end; a fragment to achieving the progressive strategy laid out in the book Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth and Happiness by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein. Sunstein is the current White House Czar for Information and Regulatory Affairs who believes the First Amendment should be reformulated, pets should be granted legal standing to sue their owners and who professes, “There is no liberty without dependency.” In that one word, dependency, is found the psychology behind the Obama adminstration. The Obama regime seeks to replace independence with reliance on government. And if Americans won’t willingly accept their ideological agenda they’re establishing a foundation which will “nudge” you into compliance by removing your options. In Nudge, Thaler and Sunstein assert,

“Individuals make pretty bad decisions—decisions they would not have made if they had paid full attention and possessed complete information, unlimited cognitive abilities, and complete self-control.”

In other words, the average American doesn’t pay attention, is uninformed, has limited reasoning and intellectual capacity, and lacks self-control. Uninformed people are incapable of making the right decisions in their life but the elistists know what the people need and must, therefore, prod or nudge them into making the correct choices. Thayer and Sunstein state,

“It would be quite fantastic to suggest that everyone is choosing the right diet, or a diet that is preferable to what might be produced with a few nudges.

“The false assumption is that almost all people, almost all of the time, make choices that are in their best interest or at the very least are better than the choices that would be made by someone else.

“It seems reasonable to say that people make good choices in contexts in which they have experience, good information, and prompt feedback—say, choosing among ice cream flavors. People know whether they like chocolate, vanilla, coffee, licorice, or something else. They do less well in contexts in which they are inexperienced and poorly informed . . . say, in choosing between fruit and ice cream . . . or in choosing among medical treatments or investment options.” Continue reading

Ronald Reagan: Lest We Forget

“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.” ~ Ronald Reagan

In honor of President Ronald Reagan, who would have turned 100 on Sunday, I’m posting one of his most memorable speeches below; one which is as relevant today as the day it was given.
